Child Care Professional Development
Child care is a critical industry in Iowa. The Iowa Department of Human Services is committed to the continuing professional development of child care staff in both child care center and child development home settings. Research indicates a strong correlation between formal education and training of providers and quality early care and education for children. Licensing and regulation provide minimum standards for professional development including continuing education. Many Iowa initiatives encourage child care professionals to exceed the minimum continuing education expectations. Below you will find links to approved training available in your area and a list of other approved training opportunities.
